This townhouse was inserted between existing apartment blocks on a plot just 5 m wide and
12 m deep, and was one of our studio’s first projects.

Life becomes transparent in this open-concept house, where inside and outside are naturally connected.

However, the typical architectural features found in Madrid remain; the entrance giving a glimpse of the light well at the back; the glass-enclosed balcony; the cornice; and that stone somewhere between white and ochre that is such a distinctive characteristic of Madrid.

The inside recreates a traditional Spanish corrala on a small scale, with its central courtyard welcoming the sunlight.

The colours of the interior walls were inspired by paintings by Juan Gris.

The owner’s trust and the builder’s skill allowed unrepeatable construction details to be achieved.
